OVervIew of the Bike Wayfinding Plan

The Bike Wayfinding Plan will work toward implementation of the bike wayfinding elements outlined in the 2020 Carbondale Wayfinding Master Plan.

The Bike Wayfinding Plan includes:

  • Bike and Pedestrian field counts in the Fall of 2021 to help determine priority phasing.

  • Evaluation of the implementation of bike facilities in Carbondale (i.e. where have bike lanes been installed, where bike lanes are still needed, etc.).

  • Refinement of bike wayfinding elements.

  • Bike wayfinding destinations.

  • Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) application to fund the first phase of wayfinding signage and upgraded bicycle facilities.
